After clearing out Springvale School, I tool all the loot back to Megaton. Moira actually ran out of caps, so I had to spread my loot around to the Doc and to Moriarty's. But any cap is good, right?
Moira tried to make me her assistant in writing her "Wasteland Survival Guide". Basically, it means I'm getting shot at. However, it sounds like it can save some people. And that's good, right? I agreed to visit Super Duper Mart... purely on a trial basis, of course.
I walked over to Super Duper Mart, which is to the east. the "parking lot" was mostly empty, except a wastelander and some vicious dogs. I killed the dogs but not before they killed the wastelander. I stripped them all of valuables, and emptied both Nuka-Cola machines. I decided to store the loot in one of the machine for now.
I slowly moved in. There was a raider patrolling atop of the shelves with some plants between aisles. Interesting. The whole place is dark. Guess raiders don't believe in lights. I angled away from that raider, as I want to see what else is there. I turned left and heard footsteps. I crept into the shadows and waited. A raider walked out, unaware of me. I shot him in the back of his head, and waited in the shadows. Did the other raiders not hear me? I can see one of them was agitated behind a counter, but he did not come out to investigate. I crept a bit closer, sticking to the shadows. Then put a round between his eyes. I then rushed the counter, and jumped over it, slid across, and dropped to a crouch behind it.
Two raiders rushed in, just as I switched to SMG and shot them point blank. They went down.
That guy patrolling on the shelves did get a little closer, but he somehow can't see me. I switched to rifle and shot him in the back when he turned around. He pitched off the walkways and did not reappear.
I went back to SMG and investigated the area. This raiderette with a shotgun almost got me, and I did take a couple pellets in my left arm, but I killed her before she could reload. I was able to salvage laser pistol and ammo (useful to repair my own, a relic from Uncle Owen) and all the weapons and armor from the raiders I killed. I stuffed them in a container near the exit. I also found a couple mines, even as I came across this door that is seriously locked, with a terminal too. I've seen Uncle Owen hack a terminal before, but I figure I'll need some time that I can't be interrupted. Fortunately, one of the containers I looted contained multiple frag mines. I planted 3 at each door. So if they got in while I'm distracted, they will be dealt with accordingly.
I then started hacking the terminal. It was tedious work, and it took me over an hour, alternating between lockpicking and hacking. I had used up all my bobby pins and finally, I guessed right and the password was accepted. The door unlocked, and I was admitted into the storage room.
There were quite a few usable merchandise, even a terminal, and an intact Protectron. However, my hacking skills aren't good enough to hack THAT terminal. I left it alone. I noticed a nice shipment of Nuka-Cola and NC Quantum in the corner. I grabbed those when I heard the mines going off. I rushed outside, crouched, as I knew the raiders would go for the inner storage, looking for their buddies (now all dead, thanks to me). I have two mines left, and I quickly dropped them in the corridor leading up to the room, backed out of the corridor, readied my SMG and waited.
"Wherever you are, you are dead meat!" The raider leader yelled, "I am going to find you and beat you to a pulp!" I just smiled. He has no idea what he's up against. I'm not some wastelander he can push around. I'm a Regulator, and it's my duty to kill scum like him, preying on other humans. Animals did not know any better, but humans ought to know better.
I head running footsteps, and soon KABOOM KABOOM! One ran into the corridor and ate the mine. I saw the body hit the wall and the head actually rolled off toward me. Two more raiders rushed in, but met my SMG's bullets. I heard no more raiders.
As I did find the raider stash and got through the security, I considered my obligation to Moira's "research" satisfied. I tried to retrieve one of the mines, but it blew up in my face. That hurts! I walked off and shot them so I can exit the place. I went through all the rooms against, making sure I did not miss anything. I looted all the raiders for their guns and armor. I consolidated my loot and walked back to Megaton with my loot load.
As I groused about being a human pack mule, I wondered whether I can get a dog of my own. That raider boss in Springvale School had a dog. There must be SOME friendly dogs around, right? I promised myself to keep an eye out for one, should I come across one.
I arrived in Megaton sold off my loot, and did this another time to sell all the loot. I ran Moira out of caps again, and had to give her some back as repairs.
I went down to the Brass Lantern Eatery and chatted. One of the settlers claimed before he moved here he was up northeast and he swore he heard a dog barking and a human giving commands near the scrapyard. He just ran as it was the middle of a battle. I asked him where is that and it turns out it wasn't far from Regulator HQ. I have some fingers to turn in anyway, so I thanked him and left.
Time to see Sonora Cruz again.
